Senior Project Proposal Question #4

What is the job that I have to complete in order to be a nurse assistant?

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), some of your duties might include serving meals, making beds, changing bedpans, monitoring vital signs and helping patients dress and bathe. Nursing assistant can be found wherever there is a need for personal patient care.You could also assist doctors and nurses by taking a patient's temperature, blood pressure and pulse rate. Some of the clerical duties of a certified nurse assistant include answering the phone, taking messages, and organizing paperwork. Other nursing assistant duties might include taking and recording vital signs, monitoring nutrition and hydration and reporting changes in patients' mental or physical condition to other members of the medical team ("Nursing Assistant Duties, Education and Job Outlook"). As a working assistant he or she provides individualized attention, which encourages each resident's ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Attend to the individual needs of residents which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, and range of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the individuals' care requirements.("Certified Nursing Assistant").
