How much money can a nursing assistant make in this field?

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, " the starting salary of nurse's assistant averaged $17,510 annually or $8.42 per hour as of 2009". There are various factors to consider when determining if a certified nursing assistant's income is consider good. Nursing assistant incomes also vary depending on location, depending on factors such as demand, cost of living and local minimum wages. In addition to pay differences, the local cost of living, personal financial demands and personal goals must be considered, as well as the opportunity for growth in this field, which may bring a higher income with experience and training. Bureau of Labor Statistics also stated that, "nursing assistant working in home health in home health care or elderly community care center earn comparatively low salaries at $23,070 and $23,320 respectively". The lowest 10 percent of home health care aides earned $15,950 annually while the top 10 percent earned $29,390 annually.
